A Family Friendly Coffee Shop
Inspired by the cozy beer gardens and pubs of Europe, The Teapot opened its doors in 2016 as Arizona’s very first play café - a space designed for both kids and grown-ups to enjoy.
Similar in spirit to the play areas you might find at fast-food restaurants but reimagined with a more adult friendly vibe. The Teapot quickly became a favorite gathering spot for young families in downtown Phoenix.
Guests could enjoy coffee and tea alongside English-inspired treats, including our signature freshly baked scones served with fresh cream and strawberry jam.
The concept was an immediate success, often drawing lines out the door. We helped pioneer a new wave of young families discovering and shaping the downtown Phoenix community.
The Play Café had an amazing run, but like so many small businesses, we had to close during the pandemic. While the café hasn’t reopened yet, there are plans brewing to bring a similar concept back in the future - stay tuned!
In the meantime, we still love creating moments for families to come together. Every spring, we host our annual Easter Egg Hunt - a free event that’s become a popular tradition with many local families.
