Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often about our private event venue in Downtown Phoenix.
How many guests can The Teapot accommodate?
The Teapot can accommodate private events of up to 80 guests. Our historic home-and-garden setting works particularly well for baby and bridal showers, small and intimate weddings, birthdays, corporate gatherings and other private celebrations.
Is The Teapot an indoor or outdoor venue?
Both. Your guests can move between our air-conditioned historic home, covered front and back porches, and private garden.
Is my event private?
Yes. When you reserve The Teapot, the venue is reserved exclusively for your event during your booking.
What types of events do you host?
We regularly host baby showers, bridal showers, small and micro weddings, wedding receptions, birthdays, corporate events, networking gatherings, celebrations of life, fundraisers and private parties.
What are our food and catering options?
We're deliberately flexible. You can bring your own food, hire the caterer of your choice, or choose from The Teapot's in-house catering options.
When you choose our catering, The Teapot team will set everything out and clear it away afterwards — making your event that little bit easier.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. The Teapot is a licensed venue, so alcoholic beverages must be purchased through us.
Our staffed bar offers options including beer, wine, champagne, mimosas and cocktails, alongside coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beverages.
Are tables and chairs included?
Tables and chairs are included in your reservation. We'll help you determine the best layout based on your guest count and plans for the celebration.
Can we bring our own vendors?
Yes. You're welcome to choose your own caterer, photographer, florist, DJ and other event professionals, subject to our venue guidelines.
Can we decorate?
Absolutely. We love seeing people make The Teapot their own.
You're welcome to bring decorations, flowers and signage, subject to a few simple guidelines designed to protect our historic home and garden. Please no glitter or confetti, and decorations should only be attached using approved methods.
What happens if it rains?
One advantage of The Teapot is having a combination of indoor, covered and outdoor space.
Our historic home and covered porches provide shelter, and we can talk through additional rain-plan options with you depending on your guest count and event setup.
Is The Teapot air-conditioned?
Yes. The inside of our historic home is air-conditioned, giving guests somewhere comfortable to cool off during warmer Phoenix weather.
Is The Teapot child friendly?
Very much so.
Tucked away at the back of our fenced garden is The Play Box, our custom children's play area. If your event doesn't include children, we simply keep the play area closed.
Where do guests park?
Free street parking is available along 5th Avenue and nearby McKinley Street. As with any Downtown Phoenix event, we encourage guests to carpool or use rideshare when possible.
Where is The Teapot located?
We're located at 818 N 5th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003, in the Roosevelt Historic District near Downtown Phoenix and Roosevelt Row.
Our central location is convenient for guests traveling from Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Glendale, Paradise Valley and across the Valley.
How much does it cost to rent The Teapot?
Many private events at The Teapot come in around $1,000, although final pricing depends on the day, time, guest count, length of reservation and any food or drink options you choose.
Weddings typically cost a little more because they generally require longer reservations, additional setup and breakdown time, more staffing, and greater coordination with vendors and the wedding party.
We try to keep our pricing straightforward and flexible rather than forcing every event into the same package.
