Event Planning & Booking

Q1. What types of events can I host at The Teapot in Phoenix?
The Teapot is perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, kids’ birthdays, corporate mixers, workshops, and private parties. Our historic 1906 house and gardens create a unique backdrop for any celebration.

Q2. How many guests can The Teapot accommodate?
We comfortably host up to 80 guests with flexible seating layouts. The house, covered porches, front and back garden areas give you plenty of options.

Q3. How do I check availability and book The Teapot?
You can inquire here through our website.  We’ll confirm your date, walk you through package options, and secure your booking with a deposit.

Q4. Can I tour The Teapot before booking?
Absolutely. We offer free walkthrough tours by appointment so you can visualize your setup and plan your event with confidence.

Q5. What’s included in my event rental?
You get good value for your money at The Teapot.  A rental includes private access to the whole property, including the front garden, house and back garden area.  It also includes, tables and chairs (enough for upto 80 guests), lighting, music speakers and a Teapot Staff member to support your event. 
Optional add-ons including Food, Drinks and Decorations are also available.

Food, Drinks & Vendors

Q6. Can we bring our own food, or do you require a licensed caterer?
Both are welcome!  You can bring your own food, hire a caterer, or pre-order from our in-house catering menu.  Self-catered events include a small service fee for setup and coordination.

Q7. Does The Teapot offer food and drinks?
Yes! Every booking includes a dedicated staff member who will serve as your Event Host/bartender/barista.  We have a full drinks menu available, including coffee, tea, beers, wines, cocktails, champagne and mimosas.  Our in-house catering menu offers finger-food-style platters designed to be easy, stylish, and crowd-friendly.

Q8. Can we hire outside vendors for décor or entertainment?
Definitely. You’re free to hire-in your own décor, florist, DJ, or entertainer.  We also have an extensive 'Preferred Vendors' list we can share with you.

Venue Features & Amenities

Q9. Is The Teapot an indoor or outdoor venue?
Both!  Our space includes charming indoor rooms, covered porches, and a large private back garden - great for small to medium sized events with upto 80 people.  

Q10. Does The Teapot have a kids’ play area?
Yes!  At the back of our garden we've created The Play Box, a custom-built play space designed to keep little ones entertained during events.  For adult-only events we can keep it closed.   

Q11. Can we have a bounce house or outdoor activities?
Yes, we allow bounce houses up to 20×20 ft with prior approval. Our fenced garden is perfect for outdoor games and activities.  

Q12. Is parking available at The Teapot?
Parking is free street parking along 5th Avenue (in front of us) and along McKinley Street just to our south.  Most of houses along our street are businesses, and so in the evenings and over weekend the road is usually wide open.  Considering how close we are to downtown Phoenix - we have very good parking availability.

Pricing, Deposits & Policies

Q13. How much does it cost to rent The Teapot?
Pricing varies based on day, time, and event type.  Contact us for a detailed quote.

Q14. What’s your deposit and payment policy?
A 50% deposit secures your date, and the remaining balance is due before your event. We also require a refundable cleaning/security deposit.

Q15. What’s your cancellation policy?
Payments, once taken are non-refundable.  However, if something was change, we can usually apply monies paid as a credit towards a future rebooking.

Special Experiences & Add-Ons

Q16. Can I host a baby shower or bridal shower at The Teapot?
Absolutely! Our cozy interiors, charming gardens, and custom décor options make The Teapot one of Phoenix’s favorite spots for showers.

Q17. Do you offer themed event packages?
Yes and No.  We offer a number of decoration items available for rent, but we don't have everything.  We'll always be transparent as to what we can and cannot provide.  We can refer you to other local vendors to fill any gaps.     

Q18. Can you arrange special touches like sparkler exits or champagne toasts?
Yes - we offer custom decor packages tailored to your vision.  Here, we do all the setting up, so you get to relax and enjoy your event.

Q19. Where is The Teapot located?
We’re at 818 N 5th Avenue in the Roosevelt Arts District of downtown Phoenix - just minutes from coffee shops, murals, and great photo spots.

Q20. Are there hotels or attractions nearby?
Yes! We’re within walking distance of boutique hotels, restaurants, and cultural landmarks like Hance Park, Roosevelt Row, and the Japanese Friendship Garden - perfect for photoshoots and after-parties.
